Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico to a family of musicians. She was raised listening to traditional, old boleros as well as the traditional ranchero, romantic, and romantic ballads. Ana likes tangos as much as operas and other dramatic forms. Ana began learning to sing and play the piano at an early age alongside her mother. She received more formal training in singing at the age of 16 old and studied with the world-renowned Mexican Tenor Flavio BECARRA. Her musical education continued through the School of Music of Guadalajara University, and then the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. She sang throughout Guadalajara, Mexico City and various cities while a college student as well as a professional. After relocating to California in United States in 2000, she joined the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus before moving to her present residence in the southern part of California. The group she is in currently part of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and often performs as a soloist of classic Latin American music at private occasions. She is passionate about the arts, music, as well as performing, keeps her active in numerous local organizations as a performer, teacher, and instructor. Ana is also a previous participant in the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana hopes that through her singing music from Latin American traditional songs, that she will instill an interest, especially among younger people, for keeping this music living.
