Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers, was born on the 8th of July, 1989 in Paris. As a young girl of just five when she left for Oxfordshire and enrolled in an Oxfordshire-based Dragon School. At the age of six, Emma knew that she wanted to be an actress and for a number of years she studied at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school where she studied singing dancing and acting. As early as age ten she was involved and performed the main role in a number of Stagecoach School plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is the film from 2001 version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Emma was discovered by agents via her Oxford teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint after 8 auditions. They were selected as the three lead characters Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's first cinematic appearance was as a part of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. It was the year's top earning film, smashing records during the opening day and the very first weekend. Critics praised the film and the performances of the three young stars. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her outstanding performance. Emma received the Young Artist Award as the leading young actress in the feature Film. She was later nominated five times for her performance in the movie.
